This is my personal favorite way to type accents it is quick and easy. Once you get the most used ones down accents will be an easy and fast way to type accents.
L’accent aigu: The aigu accent points to the right and upward é. Only appearing above the letter e, it changes the letter’s pronunciation to ay

L’accent grave: The grave accent points to the left and upward è. It can appear over any vowel, but it only alters pronunciation when over the letter e. While, depending on context, unaccented e‘s may be pronounced several different ways, e‘s with grave accents are always pronounced ehh, like the in the English word set

Le circonflexe: The circonflexe looks like a little pointed hat over vowels ê. It doesn’t change pronunciation, but it must be included in written French.

La cédille: In French, the cedilla is a little tail under the letter c: ç. It’s used to give the an ssound instead of a hard sound

Le tréma: The tréma looks like two dots above a letter ë. It’s usually placed above the second of two consecutive vowels when both vowels are to be pronounced separately

One of the easiest way you can do french accents on your computer is by using the character map. You hit the start button the go to programs. Then proceed to accessories then it is under system tools it has a list of a whole bunch of accents and symbols.
Now, you may be thinking that this is very helpful if you are on a computer, but what if I want to type accents on my phone? I have a simple solution, just add a French keyboard onto your smart phone.
